Boot camp. There we’ve said it.
Ok, there may be a shiver or two creeping up and down your spine right now at what images those two words are currently conjuring up, together with a compelling desire to flee. But we bet those pictures are not totally accurate.
The media has a lot to answer for (we might as well blame them, everyone else does). But seriously, as I’m sure you’re aware, boot camps on TV are designed to encourage those taking part to get emotional, shed bucket loads of tears and mourn meat pies, M&Ms or whatever other food they currently feel deprived of.
That’s just not how we work at our Kansas City bootcamp. Tears are the last thing we want to see – unless you’re weeping for joy, of course. And we promise that on one of our personalized nutrition plans, not only will you not feel deprived of certain foods – you’ll wonder why you ever craved them in the first place.
Sounds too good to be true? Why? Because losing weight and getting fit couldn’t be that easy, right? Well, here at our Kansas City bootcamp we’re not going to fool you and tell you that looking and feeling better is going to be a piece of cake (which you won’t want anyway) but we will tell you – honestly – that not only is it possible, it’s also a whole lot of fun at the same time.
And folks, I should know. For those doubts and the negative stuff which is going through your head right now, went through mine – when I was having to carry an extra couple of pounds of fat around with me every day, feeling sluggish and shunning social situations because (a) I didn’t have the energy and (b) I was embarrassed at the fact my clothes all looked as if they were for someone a size smaller than me. At the same time I craved carbs and sweet stuff day in, day out. It wasn’t a happy existence and I knew that at some point I had to get off that treadmill.
At our Kansas City bootcamp we’ll take you by the hand and help you take those steps off the treadmill and into a more pleasant pace of life.
Meanwhile, heard of endorphins? They’re the happy guys who make you want to get up in the mornings and go out and socialize. Everyone’s got a certain amount floating around in their body. But it’s possible to get more. By exercising.
