This post is for all the new folks who’ve come along and joined Overland Park Boot Camp since the start of the New Year.
The beginning of January is always a busy time for us – for obvious reasons – so many people starting their New Year resolution to finally lose that spare weight that’s been creeping up over the months, and to get fit.
Crunches are a great way to tighten stomach musclesWell done for finally making the decision to join up and meanwhile here’s a few extra tips for you for when you feel yourself wavering (as everyone does now and again – don’t feel too bad about it):
- Make it a promise to yourself to get in 30 minutes of exercise a day. Even it’s just walking up and down the stairs at home because it’s too cold to head out. You owe this to yourself. It’s as vital to your long-term health as eating and sleeping is
- Keep at the weights. They’re brilliant for building up your muscles and they’ll even help you sleep better. And no ladies, they won’t make you look like Superman with bulging biceps (unless you want them too). What they will do though is give you added strength which in turn is a great confidence boost
- If you’re going to put all that effort into coming to Overland Park Boot Camp, strengthening your muscles and looking great then you’ll want to feel great too. And that means watching what you’re putting in to your body. We don’t mean go on a strict calorie controlled diet, but rather eat better – more green vegetables and fruit, nuts and whole grain foods rather than sugar and white carbs. Remember you need to fuel up for those gym and camp sessions. It’ll make you feel better mentally as well as physically
- Don’t get too ambitious, too quickly. In other words keep your goals real. You’re not going to lose two stone in a month and if you expected to you’d be very disappointed and worse, disheartened. Aim for 1lb or 2lb a week and a gradual toning.
Adopting a healthy lifestyle after a number of years in an unhealthy one isn’t easy but it’s possible and we can help you get there quicker at Overland Park Boot Camp. We’re glad you joined up and can guarantee – you won’t regret it!
